Oya Jam is run by Marvellous Nwachukwu. Questions about your data: privacy@oyajam.com.

Oya Jam is a catalog of browser games with a personal library. We collect very little, we do not sell anything, and we do not use advertising trackers. This page says exactly what leaves your device and why.

Browsing and playing

You can browse the catalog and open games without an account. Games open on their developers' own websites; what those sites collect is governed by their own policies, not this one.

Your library

Saved games, favorites, private links, and your “recently opened” list are stored only in your browser (localStorage). They are never sent to our server. Clearing site data deletes them; the library page has Export and Import so you can keep a copy.

“Sync or share” packs your library into a link. The games travel inside the link's #fragment, which browsers never send to servers, so we do not see or store it. Anyone you give the link to can read what is in it; the “favorites only” option leaves your private links out.

Trial counting

During the trial we count how the catalog is used so we can tell whether it helps people find games again. Each time you visit (once per day), click Play, or save a game, your browser sends:

We do not record IP addresses, user agents, or anything from your library. A “Play click” is just that; we cannot see whether you played. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in evaluating the service; you can object at any time with the switch below, which also deletes the identifier from your browser.

Trial events are kept until the trial report is written, then deleted or reduced to aggregate counts.

Listing a game

If you submit a game, we store what you type (title, URL, developer name, description, category, devices, controls), the optional picture, and your contact email. The email is used only if a reviewer needs to reach you about the listing and is never shown publicly. Submissions and review notes are kept as a record of what was published and why; ask us to delete yours and we will, unless we need it to show a listing was authorised.

Corrections and removal requests

Reports from a game page store your message and, if you give one, your email. They are private to reviewers.

Reviewers

Reviewer sign-in uses Clerk, which sets session cookies for signed-in reviewers only. Visitors get no cookies from us.

Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act and the GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to processing. For trial counting, the identifier on the library page is the only key we have; quote it if you want those events removed. For submissions, write from the contact email you used.

Children

The catalog is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. Some listed games may have their own age requirements.
